Swallowfield Local History Society

February News Letter

  1. Our first meeting, November 2021, for many, many months was a great success, with Richard Marks giving us his Presentation of "Reading and the 3 B's". As he proceeded to enlighten us, just how many B's had he found in Reading? The questions flowed fast and furious at the end which showed how much the audience was engaged in his talk.We finished the evening with mulled wine and mince pies which gave a festive feeling to an important "beginning again" of the Swallowfield History Society.Unfortunately the January New year Dinner at the Mill House had to be cancelled due the continuing concern with covid restrictions. Our next meeting will be on the 17th February. Barbara Stanley will give a talk on "A Life in Education". Barbara is is a great speaker, so we know we will have a good evening, with a presentation created out of personal experience. The AGM will on 17th March, when the Agenda will be planning our future and how we move forward.Do come and join usOur meetings are usually on the third Thursday of the month at 7.15pm for 7.30pm, in the Rose Room at Swallowfield Parish Hall.
